Unlike conventional temples, Wat Phra Kaew does not contain living quarters for monks, and it is richly adorned with holy structures, statues, and pagodas, with the main temple housing the Emerald Buddha. Despite its small stature of only 17 inches, this green jade icon is the most venerated object in Thailand. While most halls and palaces are viewable only from the exterior, the adjacent Wat Pho awaits exploration, boasting the grandeur of the colossal Reclining Buddha and the majestic Chedis of the Kings.
