Afternoon, visit the Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town, and the Silver Pagoda. Located within the grounds of the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which
is made up of 5,000 silver tiles. The treasures found inside include a solid gold Buddha encrusted and weighing 90 kilograms, and a small 17th century emerald and baccarat crystal Buddha. End your afternoon with a visit
to the Wat Phnom temple, Phnom Penh’s namesake, from where you can enjoy views over the tree-lined avenues of the city during sunset.

Drive to the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek (16 km south of Phnom Penh). Between 1975 and 1978, about 17,000 men, women, children and infants (including nine westerners) detained and tortured at S-21 prison were transported to
the extermination camp of Choeung Ek. They were often bludgeoned to death to avoid wasting precious bullets. Fragments of human bone and bits of cloth are scattered around the disinterred pits. Over 8,000 skulls, arranged
by sex and age, are visible behind the clear glass panels of the Memorial Stupa, which was erected in 1988.

Return to Phnom Penh. Visit the notorious Tuol Sleng Museum. In 1975, Tuol Svay Prey High School was taken over by Pol Pot’s security forces and turned into a prison known as Security Prison 21 (S-21). It soon became the
largest such center of detention and torture in the country. More than 17,000 people held at S-21 were taken to the extermination camp at Choeung Ek to be executed; detainees who died during torture were buried in mass
graves in the prison ground. Room after room the museum displays photographs of men, women and children covering the walls from floor to ceiling; virtually all the people pictured were later killed. Visit the Russian Market

Day 8: Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat (Breakfast, Lunch included)

Breakfast at your hotel.

This morning, we will visit the last capital of the Khmer Empire: Angkor Thom, built in the 12th century and deserted most likely during the 16th century, including the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning
of the ocean of milk, Bayon temple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with 216 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, Baphuon, a pyramidal representation of Mount Meru, the Terrace of the Elephants, used by Jayavarman VII to
watch his victorious army return the Terrace of the Leper King, who’s statue was formerly thought to represent a legendary “leper king,” but is now considered to represent Yama – the Lord of the Dead and believed the terrace
itself might have functioned as a royal cremation platform.

We visit the famous Ta Prohm temple, a beautiful jungle temple that nature seems to have taken over. As you explore the temple’s crumbling ruins, you’ll see trees growing out of the walls and roofs, their roots twisting
and turning around the ancient stone structures. Ta Prohm has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and has retained much of its mystery, making it a must-see for any visitor to Cambodia.

After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the most famous temple: Angkor Wat, the world’s largest religious monument named UNESCO World Heritage site in 1992. The 12th-century temple complex spreads over 81 hectares. Its five
towers symbolize Meru’s five peaks, the enclosed wall representing the mountains at the world’s edge, the surrounding moat, and the ocean beyond.

Note: During the visit to the Bakan tower of Angkor Wat temple, visitors must wear proper attire, covering shoulders and knees, as this temple is still considered a sacred site (no shorts, miniskirt, or short trousers). Children
under 12 years old are not allowed to climb up this tower. It will be closed on the Buddhist Sabbath and religious days, four days a month per the Lunar Calendar.

Day 9: Boat trip on Tonle Sap river and Phare Circus Show in the evening (Breakfast included)

Breakfast at your hotel.

08:00AM, meet your guide at the lobby and journey to the famous Tonle Sap, Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake. You will then take a memorable boat cruise to a nearby floating village and glimpse the everyday life
of the locals who dwell in floating shacks. For most of the year, the lake is relatively small, approximately only one meter deep, with an area of 2,700 square km. However, during the monsoon season, the water is pushed
up from the Mekong River into the lake, resulting in an increased area of 16,000 square km and a depth of up to nine meters, ultimately flooding nearby fields and forests. The floodplain provides a perfect breeding ground
for fish. The livelihood of most of the local community depends mainly on fishing, and Tonle Sap accounts for 75 percent of Cambodia’s annual inland fish catch.

Return to your hotel and spend the afternoon at leisure.

In the evening, immerse yourself in the captivating world of the Phare Circus Show. This mesmerizing performance combines acrobatics, theater, and contemporary dance, all set against a backdrop of vibrant Cambodian culture.

Phare, The Cambodian Circus, is a unique and dynamic experience that celebrates the resilience and creativity of the Cambodian people.
